Snoo sneakily squeezing for select spec subs
And parents are not happy. At $1700 for a new Snoo Smart Sleeper, a surprise $20/month subscription for e-features caused an uproar, and already-stressed parents pushed back. PR coughed up a discount.
Sorry — couldn’t resist the alliteration. The word “Snoo” just does invite it.
New parents who love the Snoo Smart Sleeper Bassinet really, really love it. There’s a solid resale market, too, for this pricey bassinet aimed at just the first six months of life, arguably the most hectic adjustment time for new parents. Even without a new baby, childbearing demographics—young Millennials and Gen Zs—are more stressed and less affluent than older generations were at the same age. With employers bouncing back and forth between virtual and being at the office, something that promises a good night’s sleep for both baby and parents can entice at almost any price.
Yahoo did a review on the Snoo, with both the pros and cons. If you’re not a new parent, read it before you roll your eyes; you may find yourself wishing you’d had one, too. Here’s more about the backlash on newly-introduced subscription pricing for what many parents say are the best Snoo features. A new Snoo is also 25% off right now on the website; one suspects that might be related to the backlash PR, so if you’ve been looking at one, now is the time.

Amen! And I have to admit I love the idea, too. Apparently Happiest Baby--the manufacturer--hopes to have insurance companies pay for the $20/mon subscription. ;) THAT made me smile. Reach for the sky!
Love the alliteration…and would have loved this for my second born, who could only sleep in motion. Thank goodness for battery powered swings or I’d never have slept! But yeah, a $20 subscription to use a $1700 product seems greedy!
